About Us

Incorporated in 1983 to serve the interests of smaller and mid-sized companies, SVI has sustained continued expansion of its services and territorial presence. We have augmented our growth with strategic alliances and close associations with institutions such as Private Equity Groups, Investment Banks and boutiques, commercial banks, non-bank lending institutions, and Venture Capital companies. We maintain offices in Boston and Woburn, Massachusetts and Hollis New Hampshire. In 2003, SVI joined with DBM Enterprises of Stowe, Vermont and LBF Consulting, Inc., of York Maine, to form The NewEnglandNorth Group, a marketing consortium of independent  Business Intermediaries designed to help our clients, both buyers and sellers, throughout our region.

Typical clients are privately held businesses in the $500,000 to $20 million sales range in a Service industry, Distribution, Manufacturing or Retail operation.

SVI's founder, John Barnard, is a manager, consultant and business owner by training and experience. He gained early experience serving as an executive at a Fortune 500 electronics manufacturer. He has owned and sold two Massachusetts companies. He has served as a consultant to the SBA and Department of Commerce providing technical, managerial and fund raising services. He has taught as a visiting instructor at Northeastern University's MBA program.

Mr. Barnard received an AB from Princeton University and a Masters Degree from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

Chris G. Ladabouche has a strong background in Corporate Finance and general accounting. He has been CFO and Controller at two large New England businesses. As a practicing CPA he works across many industries.

Mr. Ladabouche received a B.S. in Accounting from St. Michael’s College and a Masters in Global Business Management from American Intercontinental University.
